Epidemiology
 

Academic Interests:

Prevention of morbidity and mortality related to minority health disparities;
inflicted and noninflicted injury, especially traumatic brain and spinal cord
injury. Psychosocial factors and interpersonal relationships in health,
disease, and behavior. Role of retinoids (vitamin A and its congeners) in morbidity
and mortality, including aging, pregnancy-related conditions and reproductive
outcomes, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, asthma/atopy, rheumatic diseases,
parasitic diseases, viral illnesses, violence/substance abuse and the
behavioral syndrome. Population health management related to terrorism/disaster
preparedness and response.
