The Division of Epidemiology focuses
on teaching, research, and service in the broad field of Preventive Medicine.
The division offers both the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Preventive Medicine
with a concentration in Epidemiology. The division also teaches a course
in Preventive Medicine and Public Health to second-year medical students.
The research interests of the faculty currently include: chronic disease
epidemiology and control, rural community health, HIV/AIDS research, environmental
epidemiology, adolescent health, tobacco use, cancer research and control,
general health behavior research, and medication errors.
